In 2017, I spent a month and a half following a cyclist as she biked the perimeter of the Colorado Plateau, interviewing important figures in the struggle and turmoil over the rights of the land beneath them. What follows is a chronicle of these people and the good they have, do, and will offer to the land they call their stead.
